A Perspective on What’s Important in Life
By Terry L. Nase, CPA, Manager
I am writing this blog while enjoying the lovely fall weather and colorful leaf changes on the trees. It is one of the most beautiful times of each year. Waking up to crisp autumn mornings I thoroughly enjoy the cooler days.
This past week I went golfing with a colleague to the Poconos. While there, we both enjoyed one of the most scenic courses along with seeing many deer with their fawns. It was as perfect a day as you could ask for; a day I am most grateful to have enjoyed along with my business colleague.
With this blog I am including some inspirational quotes from the late Steve Jobs. I hope his thoughts will add a perspective that helps us get the most out of life and recognize its true meaning.
“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it.”
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.”
“My favorite things in life don’t cost any money. It’s really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time.”
“We don’t get a chance to do that many things and everyone should be really excellent. Because this is our life. Life is brief, and then you die, you know?”
“Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me … Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful. That’s what matters to me.”
“Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice.”
“Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.”
With this beautiful time of year and upcoming holidays, I wish the happiest of holidays to everyone.Filed in: Client News
