Learning Never Ends
By Jason Swartley, Staff Accountant
Be open to learning.
One of the things that attracted me to public accounting is the opportunity to learn from some of the best accountants in the industry. After graduating with an accounting degree from Elizabethtown College, I worked for an accounting firm in the Lancaster/Harrisburg area. I moved to Bucks County, PA in the summer of 2018 to start at Detweiler Hershey and to be close to family.
In the accounting field, I have had the opportunity to learn valuable skills.
It can be difficult to continuously keep up with changing rules and regulations. When there are accounting changes and/or your organization is changing, embrace this as a chance to learn. The more that you learn, the more confident you become.
A significant part of learning is asking questions. Be curious. Consider other points of view. Challenge your assumptions.
As regulations and your organization change, know that you are not alone in facing these challenges. Reach out to us with any questions that you have. We will be happy to advise and help you learn.Filed in: Client News
